It is often amazing how little some people think of their mailboxes, especially when they are just on a poll on the street. Wall mount mailboxes are usually better cared for. I think the reason for this is because when it is mounted to the wall of your home it is considered more of the decor of the home. Most of the mailboxes attached to the home are painted or kept cleaner that the ones placed on the street. Many are even decorative. Sometimes I think that the street mailboxes should also be thought of as part of the decor of the home. Maybe then they would be better cared for.
