You don’t have to look very far to find quality knitting instructions. a search of Google, Yahoo, MSN space will quickly reveal many websites that offer basic knitting instruction for free.  Of course the old adage "you get what you pay" for applies here too.  While you can get some decent knitting instruction, if you’re serious about learning this rewarding craft, you’ll want to take the next step and make a small investment in either knitting classes or a knitting book that allows you to teach yourself.

Knitting classes will generally be the more expensive option and probably more time intensive, since you will have to travel to the class for your instruction.  Most people find that learning knitting at home is their best option.  You can easily adapt your schedule around your craft, for examples practicing your knitting skills after the kids are in bed or when they are away at school.

However you decide to learn to knit, you’ll find it a very rewarding craft where for a very small investment, you can get a huge amount of satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment with your finished product.  And your friends and family will enjoy getting your knitting creations as gifts during the holiday season.
