Chapter 11 is Unfair to Landlords

News No Comments »

If you’ve been monitoring the retail news lately, you probably know that there have been a bunch of retailers filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy this year. With the slow economy and restricted access to credit, many poor performers have finally run out of options and filed for bankruptcy. The bankruptcy law is very unfair to the landlords that own these properties though. Once a company files bankruptcy, it can choose which leases it wants to keep and which it wants to get rid of. The companies also like to use strongarm tactics and threats to force landlords into rent concessions and the like. With all the talk of bailouts today, it’s time we make some changes to the system to protect the landlords and creditors as well.

It’s a good thing my parents taught me how to plan, especially for events such as family vacations.

One year rings in my memory as the year our family vacation could have been a family disaster.

We all enjoys baseball.

And one of the destinations we’ve always wanted to visit was the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.

We had our preliminary plans made: What we were going to see, where we were going to stay, and how we were going to get there.

Then one day while reading the latest travel news for the region, there was an article about how the hall of fame was going to be closed due to renovations the week we were planning to visit.

Whew. It was a good thing I checked.

A huge market has sprung up for the rental of Cyprus villas and apartments close to the main holiday resorts. Astute Cyprus property speculators have seen this as a great way to enhance their investments potential. The plan is to purchase off plan and once the development is complete rent the property out to the lucrative holiday rental market whilst awaiting a sale. The Cyprus investment property would then earn not only in the increased market value but also from the holiday lets which could service loan repayments too. Whilst property investment does carry a certain amount of risk holiday villas and apartments are real easy to rent out if an investor should need to. This is good news for prospective buyers of any Cyprus investment property who may be concerned about the cost of ownership whilst awaiting a sale.

Having Whistleblower Protection

News No Comments »

Who doesn’t need protection nowadays?  Everybody needs one.  With the crimes increasing and everything.  My ex officemate told me one time.  She was just walking along the road when somebody who was driving a taxi snatched her bag away from her.  She is just an ordinary citizen and something bad happened to her.  She was confined for at least a week.

As a whistleblower I am very sure that you will be needing Whistleblower Protection.  Being a whistleblower is a very difficult and dangerous job.  You have to be on your toes 24/7 all the time or else you would not survive.  Kind of like james bond huh.
