Many pharmacy schools have been a bit laggard in incorporating disease prevention strategies into their curricula. The number of pharmacy school graduates per year has been averaging about 8,000 students per year over the past decade. The final and for most students their last year of pharmacy school normally consists of on the job training called externships or rotations because students are rotated every 3 or 4 weeks to different areas for training. When selecting students to accept into their programs many pharmacy schools committees on admissions place additional weight on GPA scores.
