When you go looking for work you may find an ad in the paper for a temporary spot in a company. What happens generally is a temp agency called a Staffing Temp Agency will hire you on a specific time frame say 3 months. They will essentially bring you in and handle the paperwork and outsource you to the company they work for. You get your pay checks from them not the company. If you are good at what you were hired for and show a marked performance growth the company will then interview you and give you a shot at a job with them permanently.
