If you are looking for Busperson jobs, be prepared to start off as a dishwasher, as the first promotion a dishwasher usually gets is to busser. A busperson’s main responsibility is to clear tables of used glassware and dishes; they may also be expected to take on the same responsibilities as the host / hostess, waiter / waitress, bartender, barback, dishwasher, or even the cook. Generally bussing positions are a great way to gain exposure to all positions of the restaurant business, and are a good transitional job to either the front of the house or the back of the house.
